Violent youth crime is on the rise across London and it’s something parents and young people are sadly having to deal with every day. You’re not on your own.

Fearless
If you’re a young person involved in something that you don’t want to be or know a friend who is, please contact Fearless and talk to someone. Fearless is completely anonymous and they won’t take down any of your personal details.

If you think someone you know is in immediate danger, call the police on 999.

Barking and Dagenham Council Multi-Agency Safeguarding Hub
If you’re concerned that a young person could be in danger due to their involvement in a gang, youth violence or anti-social behaviour, or you’re worried they’re being exploited by a gang, please contact the Multi-Agency Safeguarding HUB (MASH) on 020 8227 3811 during working hours. Out of Hours please call the Emergency Duty Service on 020 8594 8356.

If you believe the young person is in immediate danger, call the police on 999.

Child Bereavement UK
Child Bereavement UK helps children, parents and families to rebuild their lives when someone close dies. They support children and young people up to the age of 25 who are facing bereavement, and anyone affected by the death of a child of any age.

Childline
Childline helps anyone under 19 in the UK with any issue they’re going through. You can talk about anything as they have trained counsellors to support you through anything. Call them for free on 0800 1111.

NSPCC
The NSPCC provide support for adults concerned about a child. If you’re worried about a child, give them a call on 0808 800 5000.

Box Up Crime
Box Up Crime work with young people at risk of having their lives ruined by crime and motivate them to recapture their aspirations.

They offer a universal offer via their Instagram page with live workout videos and boxing training. They also run a targeted programme for those at risk of crime, this includes 1 to 1 online mentoring and support, as well as group work. Box Up Crime also offer a targeted project R.O.A.D.S with enterprise skills and mentoring.

Lifeline Community Projects
Lifeline offer support services for young people with mental health needs and at risk of serious youth violence. They provide positive activities and person-centred mentoring for their cohort of young people to help them find a more positive way in life away from crime and anti-social behaviour.

Spark2Life
Spark2Life provide support for young people on the streets of Barking and Dagenham. These young people are often at risk of involvement in crime, exploitation and serious youth violence. Spark2Life detached youth workers are a positive force on the streets.

Youth at Matrix Workers (YARM)
Youth at Risk Workers provide support for young people facing issues outside of the home, such as involvement in gangs and youth violence. They give assistance to those most at risk of crime or entering the criminal justice system.
